Editorial Independence
I am a one person operation and will always speak my truth. My integrity is not for sale.
If something is bad or I do not like it, it is my duty to give fair assessments and share those honest views.
I strive for accuracy and honesty, but I am human. I share experience based opinion pieces. I believe these to be true to my knowledge at the time of publishing, but as a lifelong learner, I always reserve the right to get smarter.
This means that I reserve the right to change my mind or make corrections in the future to amend inaccuracies or misrepresentations in my content. I always aim to be candid and honest in my assessment of products, apps and current events within the tech industry.
I will not knowingly enter into an agreement with a company for sponsorship that I do not believe in and find useful personally or for members of my audience.
I will advertise my own products and services including digital products, consulting and ways audience members can support the channel and help keep the advertisements to a minimum.
This includes channel memberships on YouTube and third-party platforms like Patreon and Substack. I have to eat and pay bills like anyone else and advertising is a piece of my revenue stream.
AI technology is evolving rapidly. I enjoy using the tech and seeing what the latest and greatest models can do.
My process will always start with me and my human experience first. AI is missing the human experience and I find the nuances in its output to be underwhelming when it comes to idea generation.
I do use AI to help with title and thumbnail ideas and as a script editor. I prefer to write my full videos. I will not ask AI to script a video from start to finish. That is not how I operate. That is uninteresting to me.
After all I am human to the core and the connections I’ve built thus far have come from lived experiences that pull on the same emotions you have in these situations as a human being.
I invest in many companies, including those that I cover in the technology sector. My investment choices are my own and do not influence what I make or what I will or will not say in a piece of content.
See “If it’s bad or I don’t like it…” at the top.
As of May 2026, I purchase all products on the channel with my own money. I will update this section quarterly if this situation changes.
I do not buy items solely for review.I purchase new products that interest me, that I plan to use on a daily basis.
I review apps in an attempt to solve my own productivity issues. I don’t download apps for the sole purpose of review. If I wouldn’t use it myself, I will not feature it on my channel.
I operate a media company that is the backbone of all publications including the Bill McLean YouTube channel, Press Pause Podcast and Newsletter and my digital products.
Because of that, I abide by all FTC guidelines for advertising, endorsements, influencers and reviews.
Sponsored content is not a review.
As a result of this I must disclose paid partnerships and affiliate marketing deals. If I am making money from it, you will know.
